Interior style furniture
One trend that started in interior furniture during this time was the 'matched look'. Every piece of furniture in a room had to be matching and well coordinated. This is the time when the furniture sets for different rooms came into vogue. The sets were mostly in wood that was bright and light and the look adopted was modern and sleek. Buying a bedroom set that was readily adopted by other previously purchased furniture became a hot favorite for people buying new homes. The sets usually included a double bed, two night tables on either side and/or a dressing table that was pre-fitted with a mirror.
Then next was the space age trend. This included more of plastic that was molded and other materials that were synthetic. The choice of color was mostly white for the furniture with different colored floor and cushion options.
Outdoor style furniture
After the world war era, demand for homes increased and so did the demand for furniture used in the outdoor settings. The styles adopted usually oozed with functionality and maximum utility. All the types of furniture were popular - wood to metal and aluminum as well. Apart from usual tables and chairs and the swing there was also the feeder for the birds, statues and many other decorative items. Apart from these, today there is also a trend that allows you to create a recreation room for the family to get together and relax while watching TV or playing games.
The furniture that is included in these rooms is preferably the kinds that allow people to relax - recliner garden chairs, stools that are tall and equally tall tables where people can have snacks. Also these days there is a demand for furniture from the 1950s and 60s. This gives the home the retro feel.
